    Stalls and Immelmann

Here is the official FAQ answer on using a stall maneuver before or after an Immelmann ...

    Q) Can you play a stall (that goes straight ahead) just before or after an Immelmann Turn?

    A) No. Rules says: "You have to play a straight move (one with the *little arrow pointing up*
symbol) just before the Immelmann Turn and one just after". If you look carefully, you notice that
the stall has only a little diamond, not a little arrow pointing up.

    Re: Stalls and Immelmann

There you have it. Though it is probably worth considering that the altitude rules allow for a "Split S" which is a downward Immelmann that starts with a stall. Now since we don't use the altitude rules there might not be call for it, but on the other hand it offers some variety to the maneuvers available, especially to planes like the spad and albatross. So we might want to use it anyway.

    Re: Stalls and Immelmann

For a Split S using altitude rules, I think it would be a straight, immelmann, and straight (red arrow) to show the drop in altitude. A normal immelmann should be a straight, immelmann, stall (red arrow).

But, since we do not play with altitude, I think we should play as the rules say. There is also the campaign rule that drops the straight after it for one of the Ace Abilities.

It makes sense and I believe that is also covered in the other game I was talking about last week.

I like the no straight afterwards rule for Ace ability.
