Wait wait. ALL units have to be newly purchased with receipts? I thought it was just the Battleforce. All my stuff is new work (as in I'm still assembling models and most of it hasn't even been primed yet let alone actual paint) but I don't have receipts for everything.

And this is as of when, now? If the challenge starts on the 15th are we allowed to start painting/modeling now?

The reason for that decision was to ensure that this is treated as a true escalation league, so no person would use figures they have already been painted. We would hope this will not exclude anyone unnecessarily, as we would like to see this event go well and have lots of players.

We tried to do a system for "demonstrating improvement" in the current Fantasy league which has not worked to anyone's satisfaction, hence the desire to ask for proof in this way. It is just plain difficult in this format to show proof or to ensure cooperation.

As I personally know and have witnessed that you have only recently started collecting Dark Eldar, we can probably work something out. If proof can be properly demonstrated that your non-battalion box items are new and unpainted, then we can probably work around it.

Gotcha. No worries, then, I don't think. I have pictures of all my stuff unpainted (except for two color-sheme-test jetbikes) with time-stamps of evening July 29. =) I've since built a raider and primed a number of models, but they're still all black.

Ironically I saved all my receipts for my Grey Knights until about a month after the last league for proof, but haven't been for the Dark Eldar because it wasn't an issue last time. I'll just renew my photo-documentation dedication. =P

But we can start painting stuff now, right? Or are we holding off on that until the (new) official start date?

If you've been documented/confirmed by the admins or staff, you can start painting. Think of it as a bonus for jumping in at the original start
