    Fire and Shield question

Do you add your Shield bonus to armor when you calculate Continuous Fire damage?

    Example: Menoth vs. Menoth
Repenter is able to hit Revenger with the Flamethrower attack. The Revenger takes no damage from the Flamethrower due to high Armor. At the beginning of the other player2's turn, player2 rolls a 3 for Fire continuous effect. Do you add the +2 to make 19 Armor, or is it 17?

I've played it with the bonus, but it hardly makes sense.

    Re: Fire and Shield question

You get the Arm Bonus = the Shield description on pg 36 of PRIME lists the only conditions where Shield is ignored: if the arm is disabled, the shield is Locked, or the attack originates from the back arc. Fire Continuous Effect is not an attack, therefore shield applies.

Well, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but okay. I'll buy it... For now...

Ruleswise, its rules as written, no weird interpretation needed.

Fluff-wise, maybe they use the shield to smother out the flames better.
