Thread: Great TV that was prematurely canceled

Great TV that was prematurely canceled

Besides the abhorrent and foolish cancellation of Firefly, what other TV do you think was killed off prematurely?
I think the 90s especially had some great shows that were done away with before their time.

    My picks specifically are:
    Space: Above and Beyond
The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.
    Earth 2.

Good stuff that for some reason had to be replaced by such landmark ideas as Evening Shade, Nanny 911 and Saved by the Bell: the New Class.

Oh, the cancellation of Space: Above and Beyond was certainly a travesty. I had that on DVDs but somewhere along the line it got lost/stolen/grew legs and walked away.

Millennium was both canceled to soon and went on a season too long.
Airwolf was canceled too soon and resurrected badly.

Wait a sec. They resurrected Airwolf? When was this?

Late 80s/early nineties. Replaced Stringfellow Hawk with his recovered older brother St.John, played by Barry Freakin' Van Dyke. It had weak scripts and Canadian production values. Very disappointing.

Of course, enduring such desecrations prepared me for future televandalisms such as the new Battlestar Galactica.

Yes. We will not speak of what was done to Airwolf. I still wake up screaming at night.

I'm hoping the finale of Heroes has Nathan waking up and going to the shower and coming out as Profit saying what a horrible dream he just had.

Why do folks hate on the new BSG? Probably the best space-based show made in recent memory. Yea yea.. B5 and Star Trek are both quality, but the new BSG was beyond awesome.

Harsh Realm was a good one that didnt make it. They just recently canceled the Sarah Connor chronicles after leaving season two at a cliffhanger.
