War of the Ring at Gamer's Haven is OFFICIAL now

For the last 2 weeks, my buddy and I have been coming into the store and playing our games of War of the Ring there.

We've pretty much claimed WEDNESDAY nights as our "official WotR game night". We get to the store at about 5:30pm (just after a long day of work) and we've noticed that we've played till about 8:30pm-9:00pm.

I'm Bill - I'm 32 years old and I play a Gondor army and my buddy's name is Jeremy - he's 24 (today) and he plays an Isengard army.

So far we have our forces at 1k points, and we started playing at GH to try to garner a little more interest in the WotR game. From what i can tell up here on the forums, there are at least 4-5 others that have armies that could possibly play with us. We welcome the variety - since we've duked it out weekly against each other since April!

We don't tout to be "pros" by any chance - and we play for the fun of the game (we usually end up helping each other out). But WE DO have a fair grasp on the rules, and we've come across most of the pitfalls that could be "issues". Jeremy is amazing at Army building and strategy, too ... so even if there is a fear of "i'm not that good" or "i'm not familiar with the game" or whatever, we are more than happy to help to get things going here!

Hopefully we will start to see a few more people show up!! We are excited to get participation and variety!

Hi Bill! I'm Jason, and I fight for Rivendell and the Grey Havens. With the wind down of summer, I'd be interested in jumping in to some WotR with my elvish legions.

Looks like we're going to have to change the name of Wednesday nights from "Warhammer Wednesdays" to "Wednesday Wars" (since there's Warhammer Fantasy Battles, WarGods of Ægyptus, and now War of the Ring...).

Regrettably I'm previously engaged for the next few Wednesdays, but I'll definitely dig out the elves and get them prepped up. I'm not going to have an open Wednesday until the beginning of November.

That's cool - we are just excited about playing with other people!

We are starting to see the growing happening! Just yesterday (Oct 7, 2009) Jeremy and I got to play against Kaleb - who has a fiefdom (gondor) army and a misty mountains army. We also had another gentleman mention that he would bring his Fallen Kingdoms army next week to play with us, too.

The numbers are going up - and that's always a good thing!
