    Rolemaster

Just wondering if anyone plays or know of anyone that plays rolemaster (AKA Chartmaseter) I played it way back in the day and fell in love with it however it's hard to find anyone that plays it these days.

I've played, but not for years. I always prefered the Merp rules but did have great fun with the RM line.

These days I've dabbled with HARP and the Decipher LOTR games, but I haven't visited Rm forever and a day

Yea I have most of the books except for the monster and creatures book. That some how got lost between here and there. All they seem to do now a-days though is gather dust. Wish I knew a DM for it so I could dust them off :-P

I have old Rolemaster. I liked it. I mean--I didn't necessarily like thrice-nested tables, but I really liked what the game was about. It tried to get some realism and detail in a consistently-logical, complete package. I haven't played it in a long time, either, but if I hear anything, I'll know where to point people.

Oblivious Gamer: I like to do a little gaming, wargames, role-playing games.
EC: <cold stare> My cousin killed himself because of role-playing games.
OG: Jesus, what was he playing? Rifts?

Incidentally--I downloaded the new RoleMaster Express the other day.

It's RoleMaster. But it's thoughtfully cut down and distilled to one 90 page book. You get get fewer races, fewer professions, fewer columns on the hit table (!) but it's all there. If anyone would like to give this one a shot in this incarnation, to see what the fuss was about, as it were--without the ginormous intimiation factor of the full ChartMaster experience--I'd be willing to run a few scenarios at the shop.

Frankly, I haven't yet discovered an underground hotbed of RoleMaster partisans--but I expect to any day now. Any day . . .

    What day(s)?
Can I use the character I haven't finished yet, since I don't really care to go through the hours it takes to make another?

    Re: Rolemaster

    Well, I don't know.
I'm playing Deadlands Sat. night, MML on Sat. Afternoon--at least a little, if there's room. Dark Heresy on Sundays. I also want to get some CthulhuTech and Unhallowed Metropolis off the ground. And some kind of pulp serial matinee--Spirit of the Century, Two-Fisted Tales, Savage Worlds--whatever people are up for. So--I'm kinda booked at the moment. But I do think it would be a gas. So let's look at maybe Sat. the 23rd? Maybe we can get some more people interested, as well. I have a crazy idea for an old-school fantasy campaign that could accomodate a lot of players, games, and styles.

Incidentally, I was making some general-purpose characters in RMX the other night, and it was taking about 25 minutes. Well--except for monks.

Hmmm... my character that I'm sort of working on is a Half-elf Rogue, with the Amateur Mage education package.
I did find a really old character that a GM helped me make waaaay back when that's a Wolfen Chaos Lord. Doubt it's compatable with any of the new editions though... I'd forgotten I even had it, it's been so long since the one time I played it. Five hours to make, six hours of play...
