Mike T.:

I'm still definitely interested in the next season of the GCSGWL! What are the proposed changes for this season? When will it start and for how many weeks?

Respectfully,
KEVIN

Which month are you kickin' this thing off? I was gonna postpone my league for a startup in June (and running for one month), but if you're gonna start on or before then, I can wait till the fall/winter timeframe.

Welcome to Colorado Springs and Gamer's Haven!

Well, to start off with, every night (with the exception of Monday's when the store is closed) has a particular game dedicated to it for open gaming in general so that those interested in a particular game system can come on those particular days and be assured they can meet other fanatics of that game. And of course, there is always a good chance you can get a pick-up game as well. Friday evenings are 40K nights at Gamer's Haven. This is a great way to meet new people and play against various armies.

The Greater Colorado Springs Games Worhsop League (or GCSGWL) is hosted by Gamer's Haven and run by Mike Tester (also known as eldanesh69 on this message board). He ran the inaugural season of the League last year and it drew a lot of players. After several months hiatus, he is about to start the 2nd year of the league. If you are interested in participating read the first few entries of this thread and contact 'eldanesh69' and he can answer any questions you might have.

Also, if you just want to get in a few games of 40K, I'll be more than happy to play against you :) I'm currently fielding an Eldar army (1850 points) although my primary army is Blood Angels. I'll be at the Gamer's Haven at around 6PM tomorrow evening (Friday) until closing and I'll also be in on Sunday afternoon (Noon to 5 PM) to play at around 1 or 2 PM if you're interested.

If you have any other questions or are interested in picking up a game of 40K please feel free to contact me via PM or post a message on this board.

Again, welcome to the Gamer's Haven and I'm looking forward to seeing you sometime.

Respectfully,
KEVIN

Will kevin, good news bad news. Good news is im very interested in playing and learning about the game, bad news is i dont have that many pts.

I have been talking to alot of people about which army i should start out with and i started with the space marines. They said its a good army for beginers. The problem is i dont even have it up to 500 pts :/ if i counted correctly i have 300ish, but im shooting high. sooo yeah, i dont know if your still interested or not.

Thanks.
Jeremy

I dunno if I'd be too concerned about it. we don't have a start date for this thing yet (although I was told "soon" by Mike Testor), and proxies are allowed (i for one have plenty to proxy with) BUT I'm sure an actual marine player will letcha proxy if you don't have the minis by then.

Again, we don't have a start date for this, and I for one, am looking forward to getting some solid 40k time in... so keep collectin'! :)

Jeremy:

No problem with proxying in the meantime. Along with my Eldar and Blood Angels, I also have a wide variety of constructed but unpainted Dark Angels and plain Space Marines. If you already have the Space Marine Codex you can put together an army list of about 1850 points and you can use my minis to playtest your army until you can afford to purchase the units on your own. This also helps you determine what units you like to play with and get some applicable playtesting in before actually having to spend any cold hard cash on something you are not sure you will like.

Anyway, I'll be up at the store at noon on Sunday playing "Victory At Sea". If you are interested in giving this a try just let me know by post or PM or just stopping by to talk in person and we can work something out.

Have a great weekend and I hope to hear back from you soon.

Respectfully,
KEVIN

Marshall (AKA. "John"):

Welcome to the Gamer's Haven and Colorado Springs!
Please feel free to let me know if you'd be open for a pick-up game of 40K (1850 points). I could use the playtesting to see how my Eldar army actually works out... at least this incarnation... in preparation for the upcoming 40K RTT on 26 May.

Aside from 40K , what else do you play?

Respectfully,
KEVIN

If you are able to do yours go for it. I have had some technical and family difficulties which have prevented me from getting started. If you are unable to I will try and pushmine thru ASAP. Mike T

Mike T or Tim:

Either way, please let us know when either league may be starting so I know whether or not I should be fielding my all infantry Eldar or work furiously on my revamped Blood Angels!

I would lik to start the GCSGWL at the end of the month(Aug/Sept). I need some feedback as to who is interested, points etc. Rules will be posted soon(still making changes-I will take suggestions under consideration) Entry fee is to be $15( $5 To GH for new terrain and $10 to league for trophies and end of season party). Step up and post a response. Thanks Mike Tester

Mike T:

I'm still interested in getting involved in the League. I'd recommend at least 1750 points and no more than 1850 points total. I think it would be fine to have some semblance of the old traits/special rules system from last season but, they tended to confuse mattersand also further unbalance what may be an already lopsided game.

Respectfully,
KEVIN

MyMyst8k

I'd like to hear about the changes to the territories.

I echo the earlier concerns voiced. For a game that already has a lot of issues with balance, we need to be really careful before we go adding new rules on top of old.

As Jervis says, 'An interesting story idea doesn't always need a rule mechanic written for it.'
