Saturday Night L5R Sessions

Hey everybody,

Troy here to encourage everyone to come out down to the store on Saturday nights and play some L5R. I know there are some of our player base who are looking for games before they go to upcoming Koteis. Let's help them make their decks the best they can be. And remember, we can do some multiplayer L5R. If you have not played multi, it is a great time. Saturday night is our Open CCG Night, so please dig our your decks and let's play. We have a great player base and it would be great to see you all out at the store, playing the game we all love. :D

so to help out troy and myself. please answer the following.

do you want a weekly game every saturday to play, or do you want to play twice a month, or other?

do you want more tourneys or more fun play?

do you wish to have leagues?

do you want to have the storyline events which can be run using the stuff that comes in the kits?

do you wish to become a leader for your clan in the store?

please let us know if there is anything else i can do for you, the players

because with out you there would be no game to be played

Speaking for myself, I would encourage more fun play. This would include Multi-Player games. Not that there is anything wrong with tourneys. And I would like to be the Ratling leader for the store. Oh wait, aren't I already? :D

OK, here is my two ryo on the subject at hand...

I would tend to prefer fun play on a weekly basis with the storyline events interspersed on a regular basis. I think weekly play would encourage more participation and exposure for the game in general. Perhaps we can even have some sort of challenge booth or display in the store? One of the difficulties in promoting the CCGs like L5R is that all of the products are behind the counter (and for good reason... preventing theft and the odd pilfering) and not readily available to demo. Maybe if we had a demo Training Grounds 2 game set out next to/near the cash register people could see the cards/components close up and even play a game with Troy/Charles or whoever is the volunteer at the time.

Anyway, just some thoughts...

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I'll be able to make this Saturday night due to a previous commitment that starts at 5 PM.
However, in the event that it ends earlier than expected I'll bring my L5R cars along and pray to Shinsei for the best!

Ujina Kadano x1 (No idea what set or promo this card comes from. I'm currently using Toturi Miyako in its place.)

FATE DECK:
Complex Maneuvers x3 (Action / Enemy of My Enemy)
Broad Front x1 (Action / Drums of War)
Reinforcements Arrive x2 (Action / Drums of War)

That should do it...

By the way, I'll be off on Friday and hope to be in for some 40K and some L5R if anyone is around...

Also, is the The Truest Test pre-release event this coming Saturday evening? (19 May).

Actually Kevin, the pre release was May12th. There is still stuff available and we can sell it on May 21st.

Damn! For some reason, I had it in my addled brain that it was this coming Saturday and not the Saturday prior to Mother's Day. Oh well, I'll have to live vicariously through the rest of you until the 21st!
