How many pts? When were you looking to play?

I'm open for anyday right now (jobless and bored as hell). 2000pts~~we can roll for a random scenario. So put a defensive and offensive force on paper. Late war ok?
This evening (wednesday) or tomorrow or Friday --you tell me when you can make it.

Ya I got pissed and quit.
Feels kinda stupid now, but at the time It felt good. It may be a curse but I do what I feel sometimes, and this one cost me employment.
I'm ok with it though.

Anyway got alot of freetime all of a sudden and I'm already bored as hell.

I will if you want. Right now my Honda is in the shop so I may not be available till later in the week.

I want to play a 2 staggered table game with the deployment zones in the corners. Each player will have a 1750 mechanized Inf CO, and an 800pt recon from any late war book (recon can be any type). Before deciding sides we will deploy the recons. Then we will roll for whitch side to deploy our main force coming in on turn 2 with half in reserve. City in the center with a few large buildings and the rest from the Haven. We should be sure and introduce a randomness to where these recon groups begin the game.

Anyway--let me know if your interested otherwise we can play whatever.

Wraith

Sure, I'd be willing to try that game. So it is 1750 standard and than an extra 800 of recon, correct?

-Josh

P.S.- Do you want to try for this Sunday?

johnnytaco
12-17-2008, 03:01 PM
you got it.
Sunday is fine with me. The recon will be placed at random before we roll for sides. So there is a chance your recon will be cutoff. Should be a neat and different game. I am gonna call Jeremy --he is a new player--and see if he wants to play too. Ohh ya--the main force should be motorized Inf with any legal support you wanna field from any late war books.

Cool--Cya Sunday

Alright then. See you sunday.

Quick question, does it have to be Motorsized Infantry or Mechanized?? Does it have to be classified as a mechanized infantry company in the rulebook or can it be an infantry company with trucks?

johnnytaco
12-18-2008, 06:10 PM
Any Inf CO Mechanized, or motorized. Just didnt want to see Inf walking from these distant deployment zones. I am making my main force all wheeled capable, Excepting Arty.
Later

So any mobile Inf CO

Wraith

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the quick answer.

Thanks again for the great game Johnny and Jeremy. So for next weekend, it's going to be 900pt recon and 2200pt normal, correct? How many people are we going to have playing Allied?

-Josh

johnnytaco
12-22-2008, 04:24 PM
Yep 900 and 2200 from any Late War book.
Well me and Jeremy and maybe that new guy (he told me his name twice) should be Allies. So 2 and maybe 3 Allied players. He looked pretty gung ho and I told him I would spot him a few platoons if he came up. I would be willing to bet he has some stuff painted up anyway. Maybe if it goes quickly like last Sunday, we can do a tank fight for learning purposes.

Wraith
12-22-2008, 04:43 PM
Well, that might be 4 allied players. My dad is thinking about coming, but hasn't given me a firm yes or no, so we'll have to wait and see.....

-Josh

Wraith

Ok, so my Dad plans on coming this Sunday. That's a lot of Allied players, so I don't know if anyone wants to join me in fighting for the dark side, but if not, how should we split this up?

Hey, this is the new guy I can be Nazis if you want to even it up. I almost have everything assembled, but nothing's painted yet. Don't worry about forgetting my name I'm equally terrible with names.

Hey guys,

The Sunday battle was a lot of fun. I look foward to Saturday's battle. Since I believe I am an allied for this next one, lets confirm who is bringing what to the battle.

Johnny, do you want to bring artillery? I have 4 M2A1s I need to mount and 8 25 pounders I need to assemble, paint and mount before Saturday if you want artillery from my armies.

If we each have 1000 points it limits what I can bring if I have a bunch of artillery. I can bring a light British infantry unit withall the guns and maybe some mortars or crocidiles to go with them. That would pretty much cover all my points.

Just let me know what you want. I plan to start building and painting guns tonight.

John

Sure we can use your Arty if You want. I can field 1000 in Tanks to deal with the unavoidable Tigers and Panthers we will see. Jeremy can bring anything he wants --Inf and, or tanks.

So you field rear support (Arty) and possibly a reserve Inf platoon. I field Heavy tank punch also with a possible Inf plt. Jeremy will field speedier medium tanks and whatever else he feels will go with them. So we end with 3 elements with limited Inf support.
Any modifications to this basic setup --just post

Thanks

Hi Johnny,

I have a six gun M2A1 unit I can bring and might be able to have eight M2A1 ready to go. I also have heavy mortars to go with that.

Do you want me to bring US 105s and mortars or British 25 pounders and mortars. I have an 8 gun Royal Artillery Regiment unit with staff that should work well.

I was leaning toward the British because then I can have infantry and crocodiles to go with them.

I was also planning to bring along a platoon of 6 or 17 pounder AT guns. I have 6 pounder portees that could be moved forward rapidly under smoke and then dismounted to provide support to the attack.

I am leaning toward the British forces if that is okay with you.

What do you think?

That sounds great. As far as which Arty to field, Josh fields tanks with a 2 top armor (pretty much every game), so If there is a choice, pick the one with the biggest anti tank in bombardments. I would like to see your Brits out there if their the toughest.
Also remember as a whole we will need to keep off board~~2-3 platoons so one of your platoons may need to be in reserve. I may only be fielding 1 platoon. I can either field 2 platoons of T-34/85s with a 12 punch and 2 ROF or 7~IS-2s with a 1 ROF and a 15 punch. The decision is dice quantity/quality
Still havent decided yet.

Hope that helps with direction on your Arty.

Sounds like you have alot of options.

John
12-30-2008, 02:11 PM
Johnny,

I will research all the options tonight and get back with you on which is best. Maybe I can get 5.5" guns to support the unit. They cost a bit more but have more punch and a 2+ FP rating rather than a 5+ FP for the 25 pounders.

Johnny,

I will have four platoons. Two infantry platoons (light), one Crocodile platoon and one artillery platoon with eight 25 pounders. Let the rounds fall where they may. They are all Confident Veterans. 1050 points.

Alright Josh I have 4 options I'd like your opinion on I can field a panzer company
with 5 Panzer IV and 3 Panther A
or
with 5 Panzer IV, 3 StuG G, and 1 Tiger I

or a gepanzerte panzergrenadier company
with 2 panzergrenadier platoons and 3 Panzer IV or 3 StuG G
or
with 2 panzergrenadier platoons, a panzershrek team, and 1 Tiger I

I'm leaning more toward the panzer company with panzers and panthers or the panzergrenadier company with Tiger.

Kyle

Kyle,

My recommendation would be one of the panzer companies. I'm going to be bringing a grenadier company maxed out in infantry with little anti-tank assests, so the more tanks the merrier.

O.K. I'll bring the panzers and panthers which come to 1035 points.
