Hey all, I recently built a new computer and I installed AB 2.2 on it. However I cannot seem to find a 40k file that it accepts. the only available import file on the locate list (40k3v3p45) get the error message "Selected file is not a valid army builder import file"

Does anyone know what is going on? Can someone at least direct me t a currnt fileset that will work? Thanks in advance.

that file is for army builder 3. Any army with a new codex published after space marines is not supported on v2.2, eg nids, dark angles, tau, eldar, etc. You can find the older 40k files though on wolf lairs site still.

I'd just like to add a small polite public service statement. ALWAYS double check your army list after using Army builder. I found an error in the Dark Eldar wych entry the night before we left for Adepticon. The program is far from perfect and if your points aren't added up right, it can get you thrown out of a tournament.

Hmmm, it seems the Wolf lair site doesn't have anything either, or at least Anything I can get to... I found the 2.2 link for 40k, but it lists the third edition file above, and something from 2nd edition of all things.

I really should just get 3, but I am broke at the moment : ) Maybe I will just have to not be lazy for a couple weeks until I can afford the new one.

As for the discrepancies, I am definately in agreement on double checking your AB lists, I have seen some wierd stuff come out of it once or twice.

dunno where you're looking, exactly.

I have 40k3v3p45.ab which imports just fine into ArmyBuilder 2.2c (make sure you're completely up to date on the version history!). That file was from December 2006, and I got it from the built-in New Updates finder. It's pretty accurate, though I'm sure it's not 100% perfect.

Clearly, if that's not enough for you, you are too much addicted to the crack that is the newest and greatest army. Play something with older rules, like Marines!

And, for god's sake, don't debase yourself by playing Eldar. EVER.

Don't debase yourself by playing Eldar? I was going to suggest don't play the knee-jerk, any-monkey-can-play-them default Space Marines. Play something you have to think with, not point and shoot.
:D

Check to make sure your 2.2 version is the 2.2C version, and you shouldn't have any issues. I still run 2.2 and I've got all the files from just before they stopped supporting AB2 and went with AB3. And there are still forums that support AB2 (and build files for it). Check out the "notes section" when you upload a file (like WH40K caveat, it has the forum and email to go/send to).

Well, "c" wasn't working either, so i decided to just grab 3rd and forget about the rest. Anyway, much thanks for the help.

As for the other topic: Sorry, but you both lose, as I play Dark Eldar and Blood Angels. Then again those aren't normal Eldar or vanilla marines, so maybe you both win.

Discuss.
