To get a jump on this one, we need to have it before the 25th of May. This is the cut off dote for regional qualifiers.

I will leave this open for 3 weeks

May 19th is the only weekend that works for me in both Apirl and May. I have training and finals for the next six weeks and I doubt I be able to get off base any of those weekends. But school is over on the 16th for me, so the weekend of the 19th should work out.

I would like to get a head count on eveyone who plans on attending/

Maybe we should concentrate on this tourney and try to get 18 people?

I normally work Saturdays so the chances of me playing in the May FOW tournament are quite slim.

Good luck to everyone who do get to play. Each of the tourneys I have played in were a lot of fun.

I'd like to play, but the timing may be problematic. Timing as in, I may not be here on the 19th, and timing as in mid war or late war?

This will be 1500 pts Late War, no characters

I'm very new to FoW and I'm interested in participating in this event.

I finally have everything painted up (MW/LW Panzer Kompanie) and have played a couple friendly games (against strelk... both went poorly).

My intention is mostly to meet new people and get into the game, but I want to make sure people wont be upset if I have rules questions etc at a tourney.

I guess the question is, would people mind if I joined the tourney as a new player or would they rather have seasoned vets only? (PS it's pretty hard to hurt my feelings, so please let me know even if it's a resounding 'no!')

Thanks,
Chris

Hey Chris,

Don't worry if you think you might have rules questions. We all do (even the seasoned veterans do from time to time) and it's always never an issue. I only played one game before attending my first tournament a few years ago so don't worry about not having many games played to attend the tournament. Plus the more we have the better and new faces are always nice.

I hope to see you there

I'll second what Casey said. I also find that tournaments are the best way to learn the rules, because you see different interpretations and minor clauses that you might not see during a friendly game.

(P.S. - I might be there on the 19th, but no gurantees, still trying to get a pass approved)

Wow, thanks for the response! Where do I sign up?

CJSmith

Usually the store will have a sign-up sheet, but because the numbers haven't been as high as some of the other tournaments it doesn't seem as necessary, outside of getting an idea of who is attending.

Also, a question for the organizer, air support is allowed, correct? Just need to make sure before hand.

Absolutely not mind.

You ( and anyone else, no matter what their experience level) are most welcome to show up, play, and ask questions along the way. I still do it (ask questions, that is) almost every game, whether in a tournament or just a pick up game.

Hope to see you there.

Just wanted to say that I had a really good time and a great 'first experience.' It really seemed like everyone was there to have a good time instead of the usual 'competative' atmosphere I've experienced at other tournaments.

Special thanks to those I played against, especially for the advice, help, and certainly your patience with me!

I also enjoyed seeing all the other armies, they all looked fantastic! It certainly gives me a standard to shoot for.

I can't wait for the next one.
