A friend, my wife, and I have come up with an idea for WotLK. We are tired of the drama and BS that comes with raiding with 25 other random players. So we thought it be worth looking for a core group of players locally that has around the same play times. We would have the common goal of end game raiding and with really only 10 good players lvling to 80 with instance runs wont be that hard.
Blizzard has talked about most raids being 10 mans and most of the later 25 mans having an option of just going 10 man. Now we dont know what kind of make ups these raids will need so we have sat down and thought of the classes that would be best to raid with only 10, the list below is what we came up with.
As a healer for over and a half i know this can be a boring spot. So i have the hopes of trying to come up with some kind of rotation where we can have the classes like priest and druids and even shammy be able to switch from dps to heals in different inst or weeks.
If you want to give ideas of different classes we should use feel free to post. If you want to hear more about the idea we have again feel free to post.
Main Tank: Druid or Warrior
Off-tank: Pally tank or Death Knight (maybe)
Healer: Shammy
Healer: Druid
Healer: Priest or Pally
Dps Melee: Rogue or Warrior
Dps Range: Mage
Dps Range: Warlock
Dps Range: Hunter or Moonkin
Dps Range: Shadow priest or Elemental Shammy
With not knowing how well the Death knight's ability to dps in raids is why we are not adding them to the list of DPS however this can change. From what i have read they will be alot like a pally off-tank, again this could change.
We want to try and keep the classes that give out key buffs. Having a healing and a tanking pally would be nice for the two pally buffs however, not needed. At least one shammy is wanted for the nice totems. Mages are a must for the tables and int they give. Locks i feel with the common CC they give in raids will help as well as an imp if high stam is needed for a boss fight. Hunter and Mookins, both are great however, we wont need both of them.
I hope this sounds like a good plan to everyone and alot of people are interested if you want to hear more or have friends join in as well thats awesome. We will plan to meet up once a week or so to talk strat and hang out some.
Also we have not chosen which side we want to play yet so if you have an opinion now is when you post it. But we are leaning towards the horde side.
