Come one come all to the King of the Ring.

What is it?
The King of the Ring is a 5 round mini-tournament running from 6:00pm to 12:30am on Friday July 11th to celebrate the release of Warhammer 40k 5th edition.

What do I need to play?
Bring a 1000pt army list and of course the models for said army. Bring multiples if you feel like it and switch armies between every round if you want to. Unpainted is fine but please try to make things wysiwg if at all possible. Things are going to be moving fast!

The schedule:
Each game will last for 1 hour and one hour only. There will be 15 minutes to move tables between games. If you are coming with a horde army be prepared to move models quickly!! But Richard, I don't want to play that much 40k!! Show up and hop in at any time or leave early if you want to (you big wuss!!).

Here is a schedule for you to look at:

6:00pm-6:15 Registration (ie show up in the back room at the Gamers Haven with your army)
6:15pm-7:15pm Round 1
7:30pm-8:30pm Round 2
Break time. Take the pub quiz. Chat with Troy or Rob. Wander around and look at all of the armies. Re-tool your list for the last 3 games if yours is having problems.
9:00pm-10:00pm Round 3
10:15pm-11:15pm Round 4
11:30pm-12:30am Round 5
12:30am-1:00am Awards ceremony and the buying of caffeine for the drive home.

Well how do I win?
The person with the best win/loss record will be the King of the Ring. The first tie-breaker will be who captured the most objectives over the course of the night. The second tie-breaker will be who achieved the most kill points over the course of the night. And if there is still a tie after all of that you have to wrestle for it!!

I'm calling you out!!
Are you tired of never getting to play someone? Well then challenge them right here. The only rule is you cant play the same person twice. Otherwise I will make the pairings inbetween rounds. Pairings will be random and not based on win/loss record.

And finally you ask well why should I play? Because you might get the chance to play against me! Just ask anyone I'm a fun loving care free person and lots of fun to play against :D !! I will be bringing armies built from 5 different codex's. My opponent will get to choose which codex he wants to play against, the only rule will be I can't play the same codex list twice! Whats that you say, you don't want to play against me, sniff, fine BE THAT WAY. Oh yeah and there may be a prize for the winner.

Even if you dont want to play come on down to the store and watch the carnage. I have been assured by the ever friendly staff that there will be some other stuff going on.

Show up. If we get that many people we will reduce board size to 4x4 so that everyone can play.

Also thanks to Rich, Troy, and Rob! It was a lot of fun!

Tactics are going to have to change, and with the current stuff I have, only 2 of my armies were immediately viable... granted that's at 1000 pts....

Vehicles that do not have strong rear armor die really fast. Assaults are really ugly now. Fearless is a must. The Templars have become the nastist Marine chapter by far and you will MANY new Templar players. The Templar Marines will become the new cheese army, through no fault of their own. There is far less time for shooty armys to shoot. I see Tau becoming unpopular.

Not sure yet on mob armies.

Oh the speed runs were fun :).
