Funny story,

I worked on Pikes Peak at Glen Cove through my misspent youth. It was great fun! One day, sometime when the sun went down pretty early I went out for a bit of a walk (Really it was walk, or watch TV... those were the 2 activities available to me) I had a Walkie Talky (HT) so I could talk to both Cove and the Patrol in case of emergency or something.

So I cut down through the Ski area, it's getting dark and a Fog settles in like a 2 ton Heavy Thing just dropping in. From where I'm at I can see the switchbacks up towards cove... and I see some headlights meandering slowly towards me.

So I get this bright idea and run up the hill a bit to where there's a good switchback, wait for the car to start coming around the corner, and shamble across the road swinging my arms, all hunched over. Between the Dark, the Fog, and the Timing they got maybe 1-2 seconds to see me, and I'm wearing Black jeans and my black leather coat (I was young!)

So they Jam on their brakes and I hear them all a twitter about seeing a bigfoot. I Make a few loud howling chirping sounds, and cut down to a nearby watershed (honestly with how long I'd been wandering around on that Mountain there were very few people who could follow me, both from an energy standpoint, and just knowing the terrain at night, and start heading back up towards cove. Then the HT squawks about how some tourists reported seeing a bigfoot. (they also reported smelling a bigfoot, but I'd prefer to not dwell on that part (I WAS YOUNG))

So I can hereby Claim that I am personally responsible fo at least one Bigfoot sighting in our area!

OK, Mr. Smarty-Jim--

I pick some random video. Proceed to the bottom of the upper-right hand panel, where a little box says "embed." I copy the box, paste it into the window and get something like this:

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tgtuCi-xl9w"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tgtuCi-xl9w" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Which is going to be a blank box with an address behind it. What do I need to adjust?

hmm not sure.

On the You tube page, to the right of the video is embed. click there and copy and paste all that over:

looks like this:

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ADQ-ENge-eA"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ADQ-ENge-eA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

For me at least it takes 1 click on the Embed field, and the cut and paste.

That is exactly what I'm doing. I get drek. The stuff above is even worse than what I've had before. One more try:

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EWPGlfSmItE"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EWPGlfSmItE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

It's the field circled... Make sure you're only cutting and pasting the Embed field...

Not sure why this one isn't working for you!

OK. It looks like I have to "go advanced" when I post these and "remove links" from the text in the reply box. Let's see if I can fix the posts above and enter the second circle of youtube-fu.

Edit:
OK. I think I figured out the procedure I have to use. I believe it's complicated because in my forum preferences, I toggled on the wysiwyg editor options. So--for whomever else is strugling with this, that might be the deal.

Back to the subject. The San Luis valley is rife with Sasquatchery.

The first week of June, I'm going to borrow a good Nikon, get my pop and his boat, and we're going to go out to Honey Island and look for the skunk ape(s) that live out there. If he wants to call it "fishing" that's fine with me. I'll post whatever I shoot here first, of course. Google "Honey Island swamp monster" and you'll see what we're going into.
