Privateer Press to Expand Formula P3™ into Hobby Tool, Supplies, and Hobby Publications

Seattle, WA. March 19, 2007 - Privateer Press, Inc. announces the expansion of their Formula P3™ brand into a full-service hobby line complete with instructional hobby guides to compliment the existing Formula P3 paint line and the miniature lines HORDES™ and WARMACHINE®.

"We're dedicated to transforming the entire hobby experience with our quality hobby products," said Nathan Letsinger, Marketing Manager for Privateer Press. "We are taking the same care and precision designing our hobby supplies as we did with our paints. We aim to revolutionize what people expect from a hobby manufacturer."

The first hobby tools released will be an array of quality brushes, the perfect companions to the acclaimed paint line designed by renowned miniatures painter Mike McVey. Other hobby products will be released in the following months, all aimed at providing the best hobby experience. The Formula P3 paints and hobby supplies will also play leading roles in a series of instructional hobby guides.

Authored by respected professionals, the upcoming Formula P3 Hobby Guides™ will give practical and expert advice for both experienced and beginning hobbyists. The first guide planned for 2007 covers the fundamental skills for painting miniatures for HORDES™ and WARMACHINE®.

This feels a bit too much like GW to me. I'm not sure I approve. I suppose I'll wait before I pass judgement tho.

I dont know man....

I mean I understand that you can only make so many models and to expand into the entire hobby is the next business step. Though, this feels like they are simply slapping thier logo on a 1 dollar paint brush and then charge me 6 dollars for it.

I dont think I will buy it but it is a good idea none the less.

I'm in agreement with you. Even with the P3 paints. I got some for free from Gen con, otherwise I likely wouldn't have bought any until I REALLY needed to.

Although I'm sold, and I like them better than anything I've used in a while, I will say that brushes and other tools seem just so much "stuff" that I already have for the most part. Until I need to replace something...I'm thinking I'll stick with what works for me.

I'd say it's more than that. I mean, McVey has done this for years upon years. He probably knows a good brush when he sees one. So I imagine they'll be fine products. It's a little bit more than just slapping a higher price on a brush. It's finding the right kind of sable, packaging it correctly, and then slapping a higher price on a brush.

As opposed to the GW method, which skips the first two...

I'm in LOVE with P3 paints so far, so I look forward to this. Anything to ease my undernourished hobby genes
