Ladies & Gentlemen:

I was reading my newly purchased Codex: Dark Angels the other day (BTW, it is a very nice codex and I enjoy a lot of the new units, minis, rules, etc. for these Angels of Death... but, I'm still very biased towards my Chosen of Sanguinus... Any updates on when Codex: Blood Angels will release? I want my crimson space marines of death and destruction!), and I noticed that the points values for Dark Angels transport options are either very cheap or there is a huge misprint afoot!

According to this printing of the codex, Rhinos cost 35 points base (as opposed to 50 points for Codex Space Marines and 65 points for Blood Angels... damn useless overcharged engines!) Razorbacks cost 50 points (as opposed to 65 points for Codex Space Marines and 85 for Blood Angels), and Drop Pods cost 50 points (as opposed to 30 points for all other Space Marine armies).

What gives?

I've been looking for some kind of errata or FAQ, or correction notification from GW on the website but, to no avail.

Can anyone enlighten us on this?

Must be the STC! :)

Respectfully,
KEVIN

The points costs have changed for the Dark Angels army. It's not a misprint, and it does not apply to other space marine armies.

Nope, it's not a misprint. GW, for whatever reason, changed the points. It does, at least on a few levels, makes sense.
After all, Rhinos are death traps now. Less people are using them. Drop Pods, on the other hand, are really amazing. They preform most of the tasks of a Rhino, for less points, and with a great chance of getting your marines where they need to be.
All it means is that GW has finally figured out that hey, maybe Codex SM needs a few more tweaks. Look at the changes in Codex DA with the Terminator squads heavy weapon choices and the cost of Assault cannons on models.

Wel,, I think the DeathWing assault Cannon issue has to do with too many people taking nothing but assault cannons in a squad.

And the CODEX: SM will get some tweeks and then be reissued. All Codexes will be in the format now of the new Eldar and the new Dark Angels.

Well, if this logic by GW continues then, hopefully, Blood Angels Rhinos, and Razorbacks will have the "Overcharged Engines" rule omitted, or at the very least optional and the points cost drastically reduced.

In the current edition of 40K, Overcharged Engines serve absolutely no purpose other than to get your transport into closer range of your opponent's tankbusting weapons since the supposed Blood Angels skill at dismounting and assaulting from fast moving vehicles is null and void with the implementation of the 4th edition rules. (How is that for a run-on sentence!)

P.S. I finally experienced "300" last night at the IMAX and it was phenomenal! Now I just have to watch it again a few more times and purchase the soundtrack and get Troy to blare it over the store speakers 24/7!

I fully expect GW to make the overcharged engines useful again, only Orks should be blowing up left and right. I guarantee it's not on the priority list of things that they will fix before the 'dex comes out, so you're just going to have to envy your DA brethren in the meantime. :)
