I was thinking that we could keep this thread alive for a while. All one needs to do is post when one wants to play.

IE: Saturday the 12th 11 AM-12 PM start time. I would love to play if anyone wants to.

btw...that is not only an example...but also true!

So, post your answers/requests here. 2nd edition seems to be ok so far as I can tell, so lets get lots of people interested and playing! If enough folks play, perhaps we could do a campaign...(hint, hint)

I'll be interested in playing - I was going to try some EPic - but I'm mnot ready and I'd rather do some B5. So I'll come down to try out my Raid fleet at least. And if anyone wants, maybe a second game to test out Psi Corps or Drazi.

Also, one caveat - if the morning's county caucus runs late, I may be delayed. But only if I somehow get tapped to be a delegate for the CO State Convention.

I'd love to, but my next two Saturdays are hosed - the 12th has a Kotei taking up the whole store, and the 19th I have to work.
I might get free on Thursday, but I often don't know that until I'm into the week, say by Tuesday.

Annoyingly, I work til (at least) 7PM every night this week (except Friday, but that's IRON MAN night!). So I can't commit to much during the week.

I will be at the store on Saturday for the B5 League meeting, and some Confrontation games. I'm not sure how long all that will take though, and I have to leave by 6.

If no one else can help you out, I'll can try to make it up by 7:30 on Thursday night.

I'm going to look at a different fleet and see what I think. I LOVE my antimatter weapons on my Vree, but they are too weak to survive till the end of the game.

Once Mc finishes my Narn fleet, I'll be able to offer any age of EA, Narn, or Minbari as opponents, going up to pretty ludicrous PL/points levels. Drazi and Centauri are on the shelf for a while til I get the urge to assemble them....

Well, had a good game! Shadows vs Centauri 5 battle. Shadows lasted much longer than the Vree! Lots of Stealth rolls for the Centauri. Some observations:
1: Shadow anti-fighter beam conversion ability-total crap! Don't ever use it! :)
2: Take as few scouts as you can/need. Weapon range is too short. 8" (sigh)
3: When playing against Centauri (no matter the race) KILL the Wolfpack 1st!!! This is imperative! 3/4 of the damage taken was from Wolfpack...Kill them ASAP!
Again, had a nice time. Shadows are VERY different from my loved Vree, last longer in the fight. :)

Glad the Shadows game went well.

I've come to the conclusion that the Wolfpack rule isn't broken, it simply flips target priority on its ear regarding Centauri. The wolfpack takes a bunch of smallish, easily killable ships and packs them into a single unit which is every bit as much the glass hammer as Vree - maybe just a little more hammer, actually. That threat comes across the board and into weapons range quickly, so you HAVE to deal with it. You can't throw a sacrificial ship in the way and get on with business, because it will be through that sacrifice and into the rest of your fleet next turn.

Kill the wolfpack, leave the bigger ships for later.

I also debuted the Liati for a trial run. Despite taking a single near crippling beam hit right off the bat, and failing 3 of 5 Stealth rolls needing 3+, it played a sizeable role. It was able to stay out of Shadow arcs or Range all but two turns of the game, and finished at least one Stalker off, while putting the hurt on another.

I still think it's way too vulnerable against ,say, Minbari or ISA. There it's too easy to reach out and smack it silly, as the 4+ Dodge is an inadequate defense.
But it does have a great role to fill, I think. And if needed, it's murder on enemy fighters.

Also, Rutarian Fighters ain't too bad against Shadows. :-)
