Question for other democracy-loving soldiers

So. Before I left again to fight the good fight for freedom and democracy, I bought several boxes' worth of other soldiers who fight the good fight for freedom and democracy. I am talking, of course, about the White Stars.

For some reason, I was pulled more towards the common grunts with the assault rifles (Star Troopers) than I was towards the elitist, laser-toting Steel Troopers. Someone tell me: what's the difference? Are Steels better than Stars in more ways than just having better guns?

The big difference, I think, is that the Steel Troopers can have mechanics. They can heal your walkers. Walkers block line of sight, so they can have these guys keeping up behind them, healing them as the game goes on.

That extra point on the accuracy die roll counts for something, too.
