Here's a heads-up on the ways next year's organizd play will improve over this past year's. And after you've read the below, please indicate your interest level in continuing the Leagues.

For 2008:

-- Of the 52 weeks of the year, there will be 5 Leagues of 5 Weeks each, with roughly 5 weeks between each one (Leagues are half the year only then). So that in every 5 week period, we'd see a League OR a Tourney/Fun Event that we can put together.

-- No Teams

-- Dispatches will cover 8 weeks, so League start and stop times are flexible.

-- There will be ways to encourage lots of play, but not the current "Plays the most wins the most".

-- Bounties will be available regardless of who you play.

-- Terrain Lists will be available ahead of time for terrain planning.

-- Pins, Prizes, and patches are evolving.

-- It *should* be both Hordes and Warmachine combined.

Please respond and let us know you're out there!

I am still interested. The more I play the better I can get. Plus I love pins/buttons and patches!

I doubt I play much in the league next year. I'll probably still play now and then, but will mainly want to play for fun.

Hordes and warmachine together sounds fun.

I hope to play more next year. 5 weeks on and then 5 weeks off should make it more manageable.

Hi all,

Even with the next league start being 6 weeks away, I'm still not sure if we're ready for it. Personally, I feel like just playing pick up games for a while.
As you play your "fun" games through December, think a lot if a League is what you want (Jan21st - Feb 25th). Then in early Jan, let me and/or Rob know your thoughts.
If we get enough pre-signups, we'll order the kit, etc. If not, then so be it. Nothing says we MUST play in Leagues...

What ideas do you have to encourage game play without using the "who plays the most games wins'?

Here's what I'm considering for the upcoming Summer Rampage:

-- Max of 3 Games per week.
-- Can't play the same person twice in a row in the same week.

Regular League play on Thursday Evening and Saturday Afternoons - players should make themselves available at those times.

I'll post more once I get a look at the Rampage Rules.
