Flames

Ok...I've got the Harbringer bursting forth from the pit of flames and have no idea how to paint them. How do I go about painting flames from the pit and flames on her sword, both sculpted from green stuff?

I figure I am going to need red, orange, yellow, white? what and how do I go about doing this to at least make it look somewaht cool on a sweet looking model?
