Actually, Juergen talked to Josh and me about it and he had planned with Troy on it being on the 31st of March. That way Josh can attend this time. But that might change. Thats just what Juergen told us though.

Yep, the 24th will be fine for me. I don't know about Josh though, so you will have to wait for his input on that.

Gentlemen:
Please be sure to verify this date with Troy as I believe the regional L5R CCG Kotei tournament is being held at the Gamer's Haven on that day and it is usually standing room only at this event until the evening.
However, whatever date you settle on... I would love to attend... maybe I can actually learn the rules well enough by then to play!
Respectfully,
KEVIN

The 24th should work for me. I think I get out that Thursday or Friday, but let me just double check to make sure. I'll get back to you.

March 31st is the next scheduled FOW Tourney.
Wraith
03-02-2007, 08:10 AM
That works just as well for me. I'm on spring break from the 22nd to the first of April, so holding the tourney one of those two weekends would be the best for me.

Like Kevin said, the 24th, the store is hosting a Regional Legends of the 5 Rings Kotei. Jurgen talked to me and we set up a FOW Tourney for March 31st.

Everyone is in the same book but wrong pages.:)
I just talked to Juergen and he will be at the store today to talk to Rob and set it up for the 17th. He wanted it on the 24th, but with the L5R thing, he is moving it up a week.
If this does not work contact Juergen, I beleive his screen name is "wehrmacht"
ColGreeley
03-02-2007, 09:58 AM
Well, then he is changing his plans cuz I penciled him in for the 31st, and Jurergen was right there when I did it.
Whatever.

Yeah, the 17th will not work for me because of a Wing wide training event that weekend. The 24th and 31st are the only weekends that work for me because that's when I'm on spring break.

DARN!! I can't make it then:( . Recognition is that weekend and there is no chance I can get out. Is there any chance that the tourney could be held the 31st, cause I would really love to take part in one before summer trianing begins.

well, i was gonna not do the CSGA gameday on the 31st when we were at 31st first, then we went 17th, so I committed to running some WWI naval at CSGA gameday on 31st; now I have committed to that and cannot back out- not suggesting a date change- just informing of my unavailability for 31st-

CSGA is Colorado Springs Gamers Association-
we meet every Saturday night, as early as 5PM, and game miniatures- possibly the oldest gaming club in the Pike Peak region
we meet at Sand Creek Police Station in the Community Room (nice facility- plenty of BIG tables and space)-

Thanks for the turn out:) Just an FYI on the new tournament rules, if one gets a bye he/seh will receive a 6-1 victory and 5 sportsman points. So as you can see a bye is good:) My mistake lads:)
And thanks again to Steve for the great terrain.

Speaking of armies, does anybody play soviet strelkovy? I'm busily mass producing my soviet horde, and would love to try a game sometime. What points lvl are your tournies? I might be able to get my force ready for 19 May... : )
Wehrmacht
04-05-2007, 09:49 PM
There are not that many Russian players. I dont think anyone is playing the strelkovy list.
Troy, you know you want to be a Wehrmacht boy:) Just come out of the closet my friend, its all good:) HE HEE We lost because we were betrayed:) So they say, any excuse right..:)

Sweet... at least I'll be running a unique force. When I get the hordes painted at least.
CJSmith
04-06-2007, 08:06 PM
I believe Patrick runs strelkovy. I just know he has a Russian Horde force. Another player, Steve I believe is his name, runs Russian strelkovy, but it has been a while since I have seen him at any of our tournaments. It will be good to see more variety in forces, as it seems the majority of the players run Germans with only a small majority running other forces on a regular basis. I would play Russians, but the way I paint I would go crazy painting that many figures.
Hope to see you at a future tournament.

I have run a Strel Bn in the past, but not at any of the tourneys at GH.
Nick and I did go crazy when we did about 450 russian figs in about two long weeks (three weekends) a couple years ago.
Been busily working up custom stowage on 4 VCs, 12 Cromwells, 10 Churchills, and the odd platoons of carriers and sextons. Not looking forward to prepping the infantry and spt platoons (x4 inf, x2 hmg, x2 mtr, x1 pioneer, x2 ATG, x1 25pdr) though.

04-11-2007, 12:12 PM
Yeah, that is one thing that I'm getting bogged down on with russian strelkovy. It is a rather large amount of castings to paint up. I just cant get away from the commissar's though. Shooting your own guys... now that's just cold. : )
ColGreeley

I still have an old Commisar I painted up as Stalin. Nothing like Uncle Joe to help motivate you.
cletus
04-13-2007, 08:31 PM
No doubt... I've been reading the fluff in the Ostfront book as well as some historical ospreys about the Eastern front, and Stalin was a serious subscriber to the "throw the guys in the meatgrinder" school of thought. Actually, it kind of reminds me of my good old imperial guard. Stalin.... emperor... not that much of a difference for the russians in '41.
