Does anyone play Firestorm at the Haven? I am thinking of starting another minature game but I don't want to buy something that no one plays.
The models look pretty cool. I don't know what the rules are so all I am going off of is the models look.

I have a Relthoza fleet, and like the game a bunch.

Are the rules difficult to learn and play with? Cause I am really interested in buying a starter fleet.

The rules are simple. I too own and play Relthoza.

I've never played Firestorm Armada but thought the miniatures looked great.
I'm actually a bigger fan of the Star Fleet/Federation Commander environment and the game system is extremely easy to play. Plus, Star Trek races and ships (from the TV series era, mind you) are the basis for the miniatures being produced, and remastered at this time from ADB (Amarillo Design Bureau) and look great.
We had a few games of Federation Commander before at the Haven and it was a lot of fun with very few miniatures required to play.
I believe that Moongoose now has the rights to Call to Arms: Star Fleet?
Respectfully,

You are correct Kevin. Mongoose is indeed mishandling Call to arms: Star Fleet. The rule system is good but the handling of the release of miniatures is not so great. I ordered my Klingon Fleet Box in November (to go inline with a November release) and the rumor is they "may" come out next week. But ive been hearing next week since November :(

Lawrence,
That is a shame considering that I was also considering purchasing the Klingon Fleet set as well (I heard it was a slightly different scale but, made in hard plastic?). Klingons are also my fleet of choice in Federation Commander too so I was hoping to use them in Call to Arms as well if it ever got off the ground.
I still have hope for the system and the miniatures... although, with ADB manufacturing the miniatures, they should look great!

The ADB minis are hit and miss sadly. One of my friends got the federation squadron box and the mold lines and 'flash' where so bad that a lot of detail was lost trying to remove them and he is a skilled modeler, There were also large holes in the hull of a couple of his ships that he had to repair with green stuff. He complained to Mongoose and I believe is getting the issue resolved. Which is great. His brother picked up the romulan squadron and is happy with the ships though there was a bit of the to be expected mold lines and flash as well.
Back on topic: Firestorm Armada rules are fast paced and the different fleets give a good variety of play styles.

I really need to purchase the FA rule book. I would really like to read up on the rules and then start collecting a fleet. I love fleets. Everytime I hunt for the rule book to see how much it is at the Haven it is not there. Any one now how much it is? Maybe I should just have them special order it.
A Star Trek fleet game too. Hmmm, I well have to look into that as well.

I have the SF:CTA book, and I like the balance I see so far. I need to get some of these minis together and start test games soon.
For FA, I was emailing with Stephan, and we'll be breaking out his Terrans and my Relthoza for a game soon.

I am going to be at the Haven tonight to play my 500 point league game and was going to look for the FA rulebook again. If it is not there I am probably going to order it in so I can see what I well be getting into before I buy a fleet. Since there are Terrans and Relthoza fleets out there I was thinking of picking up the Sorylian Collective fleet. I enjoy the look of the minis.
I am still very interested in seeing a game to. If you guys don't mind I would like to tag along and watch a game. If not that is ok too.

Ok, thanks for the information. I well be there unless something pops up. Thanks very much.
I couldn't find the rulebook again and Justin didn't know how much it was or where to order it from. So I well most likely stop by later in the week to special order it (hopefully).

Awesome! Thanks Ed.
Sorry Dale. I went out to eat tonight so I was unable to come and see the game. I am going to buy that rulebook when it comes in.

Well I am about half way though the rulebook and starting to understand the rules a little bit better now. Most things are clicking for me. I am glad that I bought the rulebook. I think I am really going to like this game. It is right up my alley.

I've got Sorylian and Dindrenzi starter fleets on their way. The ships look awesome and I have heard a lot of good things about the game itself.

Make sure to check out the downloads under the Spartan Resources page. There's new MARs for the core fleets, plus their new ships.

I like the Alliance of Kurak models. I think I well start with th Sorylians and then build up my fleet with the Alliance models. I am very excited to start playing Firestorm. I just need to buy some models to start playing.
