Here we are 6 weeks later and you've all done a tremendous job making my life easier than it has any right to be.

Here's my plan. League games are allowed up through Close of Business on Sunday to allow the full week's fun to progress.

I will come in either late Sunday or First thing Tuesday to collect and tally the score cards.

Winners of prizes shall be posted NO LATER than Wednesday.

I will be out of town starting that following thursday and not to return for two weeks after that.

In the mean time I'll work out with Dale or Rob or Troy to make sure prizes are distributed accordingly.

(Dale let's chat tonight)

Here's what I want from you:

1. Comments and suggestions for the next league...be it Dale or I who runs it, if you can think of a way to make it easier, better, faster, stronger, more Bionic than ever before...we want to know.

2. A firm idea of what you wish to have happen in the weeks ahead between now and the next league. There are plenty of opportunities for some solid "for fun events" in July. It's about time for a no-pressure mega battle or perhaps a "tourney of uniqueness" some how. If you've got ideas post them here.

3. Gen con weekend in August - If you're like me: poor and unable to travel to Gencon this year - I was thinking of having an "away from Gencon" weekend get together. Perhaps involving "meat" and a grill someplace (consider mine volunteered). Finally we can give a call to those folks that ARE at Gencon and ask our plethora of questions about what we can expect from the new releases from Privateer press...and further more...record it for the podcast. Who's up for something like this?

4. So far it's been a fantastic year with all of the new faces and pleasant people I've had opportunity to meet and get to know. I simply want to say thank you to everybody for participating in the league and let you all know how much I enjoy all of your company.

It has been a lot of fun. Meet a bunch of people I had not yet had the chance to play against. None of the below ruined anything for me, consider them just wrinkles in my view. I will be in the Summer Rampage and Summer Call to Arms regardless.

Our League Suggestions:

1) Maybe publicize the forums a bit more (business cards or such) to help people get some more activity on the games
2) Faction mirror matches - assassination games seem to discourage faction mirror matches. Might I suggest they play a random scenario since the scenarios done extend beyond the match and have no meta-game effect?
3) Encourage people to not play against the same opponent every week. I did this out of necessity most likely to suggestion #1. I think we had about 1/3 of the people who signed up not compete.
4) I know we do not want to overcomplicate things, but had anyone considered a challenge system? If you have someone above you and you have no way of getting them to play you, you may never have a chance to pass them. I know it is a logistical issue trying to get a good one of these going.
5) Including Hordes is great, is their a rule in creating teams that they HAVE TO BE the same faction? Meaning I am sure it has been noticed that 1/2 the players were either Menoth or Legion. Is it possible to either do a random team drawing, or seeding teams by this season's scores?

The grill BBQ thing is a great idea. The last one you had was a good time.

Didn't we have a challenge league some time ago. I liked that idea.

Which weekend is Gencon? I would definitely like to BBQ.

BBQ sounds good to me as well.

I think it went well. Everything was a lot closer in terms of points for team, overall, and relentless. I think 2-3 games per week makes things much more interesting in the overall flow of things. It would be nice to see some numbers as we go through the cards and see how many games were played by each person.

I don't think having Hordes invlolved affected anything.

I'm not sure what we can do to make it better. Something we can brainstorm about?

I like the idea of a relaxing, hang out and have fun break between now and the next season. A mega-battle or some other fun or unique turney would be great. Maybe we could have our own event on Gen Con weekend for those of us not going.

Why do we have so many Legion and Menoth players?

Why do we have so many Legion and Menoth players?

Cause they're the Chester Cheesiest? :-)

I think the only real Hordes issue was the obvious Hordes advantages in some scenarios, mainly where Terrain is involved.
There's a few scissor-paper-rock matchups too, where Hordes takes it in the pants.
Hopefully the Summer rampage scenarios will fix those.

The big question will be, if the Summer Season is still WM only, with the saem scenarios, do we still allow Hordes then?
And what about all the massive new EVO stuff? On one hand, folks will be dying to try it out. On the other hand, thats even more we have no guarantee of balance for...

As for a BBQ - I LOVE the idea...we need plenty of "Not At GenCon" Party and Game events that weekend! A mega-battle sounds great!
Someone give me an idea spark to run with, and I'll write it up..

Why do we have so many Legion and Menoth players?

You know I picked Menoth for the Knight/Crusader feel and Legion for the dragon-based beasts. I would trade Menoth for Khador if someone has $1200 (entire army, multi-troop units) worth of Khador they would want to swap.

I may develop some Circle over time more for my wife to paint then anything.

Spring League Results:

I made one change to avoid having too many overlaps on winners - basically I'm trying to ensure fair "Pin Dispersal" and in doing so gave the "Tactician" pin to someone OTHER than Mike T (who again seemed to sweep the event - Congrats to you Mike)

That said:

Tourney Champion: Mike Tester

Relentless Award: Ray Sevits

Best Team: Menoth Ownz Joo

Tactician Award: Jeremy Lange

That all said: Pins never came with the Prize kit, and I've realized it a little later than I should have. I've sent an email to Privateer Press TODAY to ensure we get pins delivered to the Store. I've touched base with Dale to make sure he can distribute them appropriately when the arrive.

If there are questions or concerns on this issue PLEASE let me know so I can address them fairly.

Congratz to everyone for a league well played! I don’t think that I played against everyone but hats off to all. Gamers Haven has a fantastic WM&H community and I applaud everyone for sportsmanship and friendliness. I have truly found a gaming home in Colorado Springs! :D

Update on the Pins:

Privateer was quick in getting back to me. Basically there were some Spring League kits sent (knowingly due to shortages) without pins to various distributors. I do know Rob usually orders prize kits through distributors as it has been traditionally easier on him. Privateer states they JUST sent the distributor pins late last week, since they themselves had only received them recently. So they SHOULD be forwarded to the store automatically, but I'll chat with Rob and see if he can follow up just to be safe.

Another update:

Since I left for vacation shortly after the above message, I've not been able to get with Rob on the pins. The one time I was in the store I totally spaced them. I sent a PM to him today, however, and will be sure to try and connect with him Thursday night for an update as well.

Rob confirms he has pins. I'll get them distributed to you all on Thursday.

If your name appears in the results - try to stop by, otherwise after Thursday I'll put your name on an envelope and leave it for you up front at the Haven.

Pins are in and available to be picked up.

Jeff - There's a Top Team pin for you at the store with your name on it.

Mike T. - Top Team and League Champ pin

Ray - Relentless award goes to you - so that's awaiting you as well.

Finally - Because Jim cut out of the menoth team and decided to play Circle instead, I happen to have an extra top team pin. I'm not entirely certain what to do with it at this point, but am willing to offer it up as a prize of some sort for SOMETHING. Dale...you want it for your Tacticon "Team" event?

We could save it for that, use it for Saturday, or some unspecified future thing. I've got a big envelope with some other unused prizes in it, so there's a place to save it.

I'm still in Mexico, but should be back by the 5th or 6th of July. I'll pick it up when we get back.
