My wife's work schedule was recently solidified and it looks like for a while, Sundays are going to be the best day for us to game. I am an experienced player and DM willing to run 4th edition games, though as I just finished running a 3 year long campaign in Phoenix AZ I'd like a chance to play. (Though I am so eager to get a game going I'll host and DM it if I have to! :) )
I am familiar with D&D 4th edition well enough to DM, Pathfinder and D&D 3.5. I'm also familiar with the White Wolf system and d20 gaming systems.
My wife and I are looking to start a game or join one with our roommate Jon, if anyone out there has a group going that could accept 3 new players please let me know - I can be contacted at justindsteele@gmail.com or on these message boards.
We're probably going to try and make the Encounters game this Wednesday if anyone wants to meet us first and see if we're a good "fit" though Sundays remain the best days for us to game, hours from Noon until midnight on Sundays would be ideal.

Are you looking specifically for D&D, or would you be interested in something else?
I love D&D. I'm an old-school player, I love first ed and a campaign world/alternate rules system called Arduin. I run it with all kinds of weird fantasy, sci-fi, planetary romance--everything blown out to 11. It's fun and lovably insane.
But sometimes, I want to go all the way to the other end of the gonzo spectrum. Even if there are gnomes and magic and whatnot, I like a game where you get tired when you fight, your armor wears out over time, you have to count your arrows and keep track of how much feed your horse has left. I'm not sure "realistic" is the right word when you're pretending to be an elf, but it does change the focus of the game to things people can relate to. Sometimes I like when the bad guys are sons of bitches with bad ideas, rather than alien crystal necromancers bent on galactic conquest. I'm focused at the moment on running a game like that with Metal, Magic, and Lore.
It's not a terribly popular game, but it's one that gives you the tools you need to play and gets out of your way. It's percentile, skill-based, no classes or races. You have the usual vanilla races--humans, gnomes, halflings, dwarves, and a couple flavors of elf. Combat is highly-detailed, without requiring a calculator or a lot of page-flipping. Huge focus on armor, which is just what I'd be focused on if an orc was coming at me with a machete. Magic is pragmatic, but not without mystery.
I'm a schoolteacher, and I'm taking a little mini-vacation these last couple weeks of summer to round out the campaign setting and to work out my ideal schedule for the upcoming school year. Right now, Sundays are looking good for this kind of game. I'll post a thread for it when we get it going.
Let me know if you're interested.

Hey Stu!
Looks like Sunday is actually full for me for the near future - I managed to get a couple of games going on that day and I want to see where the campaigns go; this may change if the other players/DMs can't commit to the day for long, but for now it looks like my dream of Sunday gaming was fulfilled by my constant nagging everyone on the forums. ;)
On the other hand... Friday and/or Saturday may be possible; I am visiting a gaming group on the 29th at a private residence and I may be doing something on Fridays in the future, which would leave Saturday open. Obviously, I enjoy being in multiple games - I'm finally starting to meet some of the gaming community in Col. Springs. Would Saturdays work for you?
I also want to *run* a Castles & Crusades game; I love the rules system and it reminds me of the Gygaxian-1st style AD&D game I fell in love with when I was 13 - I'm 32 now - with a lot of streamlining and all the best parts of 3.5 put in, with the complicated and unnecessary rules left out. I am thinking of trying to possibly run this at Gamer's Haven, at least in the beginning, if the store is open to the idea? Monday would be the ideal day since that day is the only day my wife would be able to make it, failing that I was thinking about possibly Wednesday night as the current Encounters game on Wednesdays seems pretty full - and it would offer another D&D system, more "old school" than the 4th edition rules-set for those who like that sort of thing.
So, long story short I'm very interested but it looks like Saturday would be my "free" gaming day right now; if that works for ya... Sunday got filled up pretty quickly for me but as I said, that could change in the future if my current DM's and/or other players change their plans.
I'm going to try and be at Gamer's Haven on Wednesday this week with my roommate while my wife's at work - are you usually at the store on those days? (Also, do they special order books? I want to get some of the C&C books and I'd rather support the local gaming store than grab them off Amazon if they order books.) Right now I have almost all the C&C books I purchased on PDF format from DriveThruRPG.
