(Tim's) SUMMER LEAGUE

[PURGATUS]

Wanted to post this, and I will be updating it as soon as I recieve more information. But what I can say is this.

- League
- July/August timeframe (most likely JULY)
- 4 days of play spread out over 4 weeks, consistent day of play (i.e. game 1 on monday, game 2 next monday, game 3 the following monday, etc...).
- website support
- limited engagement (most likely limited to 12 or so)
- 1750 points
- painted armies (the usual 3 colors)
- prizes for sportsman, painting, overall, army back-story
- must be present for all four league play days
- weekly random prizes, food, and the usual awesomeness
- fun

As of right now, I am taking leave and will be out of town on family vacation from 31 July - 7 August to Maine and then a personal vacation/"gaming haj" to GenCon Indy 2007 from 15 - 20 August. Assuming that those league dates are firm then I'll vacate my reserved spot in the league to make way for someone who will be present during those dates.

Of course, if the dates do get altered then plan on me fielding my Blood Angels.

I'd be great to see your interpretation of the newly updated Blood Angels "codex" in comparison to yours.

By the way, I'm still trying to decide what Battle Company I want to start. I was determined to field the 3rd Company especially due to the heroic demise of Brother Captain Tycho at Armageddon. But, now that he is still a playable character, I was thinking of moving onto a different Battle Company.

Any suggestions?

You might, but i doubt it at the moment, as I don't have the cash to set up my new list ideas, so i may be going Dark Eldar. We will see though.

I may be going hsitorical 3rd company, just because I like Tycho, and it fits snug with my Steel Legion army, but i really haven't decided at this point.

so it looks as if things are rolling. if everyone can agree onna day to play (any day but Wednesday) I'll put in for vacation on those days and i can start chatting with the good fellows at the Haven for some tables...

Thursdays are not good due to Warmachine(and its league), Wed is warhammer fantasy nite. Both days there are a number of tables in use since those are nite dedicated to those games. Sunday is a good day as its not dedicated or perhaps Tuesday.

mike, please don't discourage any gameplay days. the last league i was scheduled to run was going to be on a thursday. The Rob/Troy/Adam connection is very accomodating for a small and brief league such as mine. I will be speaking to them once we get a more solid day picked--it's never set in stone.

the current frontrunners are Tuesday and Thursday. Anyone else have a preference?

Tim, I am not trying to discourage play. I am looking forward to playing without the stress of running a league at the same time. I just wanted to point out the difficulties of trying to get enough tables on Thurs and Wed. The Warmachine leagues will be starting up again in July(those were not a factor last time). And now there are more than a couple of people playing WHFB. If you can get a guaranteed number of tables those nites great! If there are 8 people playing in your league thats 4 tables that usually are not available those nites. Wed nite of the two would be the better bet. :D

ah. well you never know sometimes. I doubt we'll have a tough time with any of the days, we'll just need to plan a back-up in the case that we are denied our first choice. :)

What about the normal friday night or saturday (during the day) times? NORMALLY those are good for people not working strange hours...

I'd love to join, but I can only commit if the days don't conflict with my training schedule...my test is finally coming up soon.

The pseudo reign of the Monkiegh is at an end. Their worship of the corpse god is a mockery. The Eldar have a way to keep the Terra real space/warp space rift closed(the one the Emperor is keeping closed at the Golden Throne!) Once this is done the re ascension of the Eldar shall begin.

Thursday's gonna be cutting it close on the tables and i don't wanna extend the league past the four days of play. Tuesday will most likely get the nod.

What time is good for everyone? I was thinkin' 6:00pm start time. :)

If you guys start at 6, you should be able to get your games done by 8. Tuesdays are usually pretty slow.

I think that Tuesdays at 6 PM are perfect as it tends to be the slowest day in the store and we'd have plenty of space to play as a result.

By the way, I played my Blood Angels list this past Sunday and did much better than I expected!

Tim, if you will start a new thread for this league with all of the final details on army sizes, dates and times, I'll put a link to it in the new GH Leagues module on the front page. Then as games are played, pictures are taken and restults and stories are made, I'll add them to a dedicated page for the league.

I'll be posting the league dates on the website, and on the new thread as well. But for anyone keeping tabs the league dates are JULY 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th. 1750 lists are due to me via e-mail to me @ purgatus@yahoo.com (as soon as you can) but the drop dead date is July 1st.

Most likely 6pm start times. I will post a new thread this evening!
