All - Since the Leagues just haven't taken off, I'd like to make good use of the prize kits. So when Dustin takes a tourney break, I'll be running some Fun-based events, unconventional formats, etc.
For starters, on Saturday, June 18th we'll have a 35 pt Steamroller with some twists:
- Pick your Faction
- Pick a Warcaster/Warlock NOT from your Faction. They now count as your faction, replacing all instances of <faction name> as appropriate. Elites Cadre and specific unit effects are NOT changed, so cadre bonuses will not get used.
- Build a 35pt list around this "Traitor General"
- Choose another (from any faction BUT yours) and build a second list so you have two to choose from (if you wish).
- Warlocks cannot lead Warmachine armies, Warcasters cannot lead Hordes armies.
- Your two casters can be from two different factions, but your armies must be from ONE faction.
- For obvious reasons, no Theme Forces.
- Also, we'll use some scenarios from the Leagues, so not just the same ol Steamroller stuff.
Example Forces:
- The Harbinger of Menoth leading a Khador Winterguard Force, running a Behemoth and 2 Kodiaks.
- Zerkova leading a Cryx arc-node heavy army.
- Kromac The Ravenous driving a bunch of skorne beasts.
- Absylonia driving Warpwolves to new heights of nasty.
- Bartolo Montador and a slew of Redeemers.
- Karchev the Terrible towing the Deathjack, Nightmare, and Erebus(!)
Fee will be $5 to play, but you'll get the League Rank insignia for playing, and the Big prize will be a League Coin, and maybe some gift certificates if enough show to play.
