Another example of why he rocks (http://www.theonion.com/content/opinion/why_was_i_not_informed_about)

In particular this line:

silly little 12-year-old Sammy Potts, who still thinks Chuck Norris is cool, when there exists in this world another, better guy who actually kills Chuck Norris in one of his movies. Oh, how you must have laughed.

We are neglecting a generation.

Mike--call that kid and tell him about Billy Jack!

Trust me I have my copy of Billy Jack ready to show to my Kids, the minute they start to show any interest in butt kickin' martial arts.

I totally sympathize!

I felt this exact same way about Big Trouble in Little China. I'm 22-23, a full 9 years after it's release and no one had the courtesy to introduce me to this particular epic.

Thankfully that was rectified, but I can't even imagine how different my life path would have been had I been shown this film when I was 13-14...

I'm just so grateful that a short haired little courier scamp had the grace to introduce me to the joys of Hong Kong Gun-Fu flicks early on...

That is why I make it my first and primary goal as a father to teach as wide a range of cultural items as possible. I certainly wouldn't want my child to grow up without understanding the derivation of the following quote:

"Here's to the Army and Navy and the battles they have won; here's to America's colors, the colors that never run. May the wings of liberty never lose a feather. "

SO by mere chance I was able to watch the end of Enter the Dragon last night with my 5 year old, he was positively thrilled! Clearly my mission is now to load a few choice movies to the Netflix Q.
