-_- Wow, this LOOKS terrible.. Why didn't they just keep the look of the other one...

Well, considering the animation from the other one was horrible, there really isn't a bit of difference.

It makes no difference artistically if you switch from the previous unskilled animators to sucky CGI. At least the story-lines of the last one were interesting enough to make it worth watching. One can only hope these will be as well.

There's a difference between "stylized" and "horrible" in animation. Genndy Tartakovsky has won 3 Emmys and double-digit nominations over the years for his work in that style. In particular SAMURAI JACK utterly ruled. And CLONE WARS (Pt II esp) kicked so much butt over the actual prequels, Lucas should be ashamed of himself, that he got beat by cut-out style animation.

Unless you're dismissing all of anime as well, I assume you're no stranger to stylized depictions in animation. The style used may not click for everybody, but if it conveys the action and story, then hey, it works for me. It took me a long time to like the Mike Mignola (HELLBOY) style, but now I really dig it. Even Jack Kirby gets dissed a lot, but still gets copied and provides inspiration. If a viewer must have completely realistic depictions, you're better off doing live-action than TV budget CGI.
If you want to see what "quality" you get from TV CGI, look at the STARSHIP TROOPERS series. Now I'd assume Lucas won't be that bad, but even if he's 10x as good, that's still terrible compared to something with a little style and artistry. And these character designs look more like bobble-heads than anything that'd make me say "cool".

Of course the main factor will be the writing. So far, the writers listed on IMDB are standard industry hacks, with the exception of one former writer for ANGEL.

They had a winner before, no telling why they didn't stick with it.

CGI is the thing with all the Toy Story, Shrek, etc, etc movies... me personally I would prefer the3-5 times as many shows they could put out with the Clone Wars cartoon style. I personally like the story in the prequel, but some of the hokey kiddy-centered shots make me fast-forward to the jedi fight scenes.

Well, It certainly looks interesting. The key will be to keep up the action of the first Clone Wars, to me that was what made them so cool, and why my son loves them so much.

Yes, there is a difference between stylised and horrible, but in the case of clone wars you got both.

The stories were incredible, in fact I can't wait until my girls are old enough to watch the first one.

Wait more Star Wars!

Sign this Fan Boy up... Honestly it could be animated Stick Figures, as long as they have Light Sabers and extend my already overextended youth a touch more I'm good with it!

STAR WARS : CLONES WARS, Volume 1 and was the best thing to happen to Star Wars in a long time. When Lucas saw the first 1st volume, he gave the creators the script to REVENGE OF THE SITH and told them to work Volume 2 around it. That is saying something.

That is a good point, there are a great many "Star Wars" things that I have enjoyed simply because they were 'Star Wars'. Video games, comic books, the prequels - and the animated clone wars series. The storyline for the series was one fo the best I've seen thus far.

Yup... This universe has given me hours of entertainment... most having nothing to do with the Movies directly.

I think that's why I enjoyed the prequel trilogy as much as I did. It's not really good... but it extends the universe and gives the really creative folk out there more to work with.

I mean really...

Knights of the Old Republic tells one of the best Star Wars stories period (KOTOR 3 hopefully to be announced after the Launch of Mass Effect by Bioware)

The entire Kyle Katarn story... in books and the Dark Forces games... just awesome! I loved Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Academy... great freaking game.

Force Unleashed... coming soon... DROOL

First game where you play a full on Dark Jedi as best I can tell... Sexy!

The Stackpole Rogue Squadron books, and yes the Clone Wars cartoons... all have added to the universe.

It's like Lucas gave birth to a really ugly baby, but it was a baby with enough potential that some talented plastic surgeons went on and made that baby win "The Swan"

Kyle Katarn - awesome! Wathcing Jim use the Force ( questiionably) was great fun!

I did like learning more about how much of a bad ass Yoda is thanks in part to the prequels. I also enjoyed Dooku and Maul.

If they didn't want me to choke them, and Electrocute them at the same time they shouldn't have given me the ability to do both :)

Of course my Favorite was super jumping off something high and force pulling a stormtrooper up to my level... I would smile and think, I can fall from this high and not be hurt... can you?

Yep,
I'm definitely looking forward to the Force Unleashed.

I think most of us loved the original 'baby' that was Star Wars, but the plethora of material that has come out since has for the most part made the universe a richer place.

Man, that brings up great memories. Especially when Luke would appear and say "Kyle, I sens much anger in you."

This is why more movies is not a bad thing. The fact is that it is the richest sci-fi universe out there IMHO. And more movies could just add to that wealth of that universe.

Preach it Mike!!!!

Sure I'd like to see higher quality story telling in any new movies then the last 3... but I'd still love them regardless.

I've always said if I had a billion dollars, I'd buy the rights to, and personally finance a tv series based on the Rogue Squadron books...

it looks like it has Potential but like i said before, they should of just stuck with the other Clone wars look.

Though i do hope this shows more of the complete badass that is Grevious and not that pansy ass on Episode 3.
