AND HORDES SUMMER KICKOFF

This Saturday! May 12th, 2007 11AM SHARP
HORDES Box Sets Only! All Players Welcome!
Prizes include Faction Certificates, Gold Cards and a
Hardback Copy of HORDES: PRIMAL!
There will be at least 3 45min Rounds, so the event should wrap by 2PM-ish.
Tourney Fee of $5
The event will be followed by much more this Spring/Summer, all aimed at getting the HORDES players out there!

FIRST HUNT – A Tourney for the Newest of the New HORDES Players. Bring your Hordes Box Sets to duke it out with other fledglings. This Tourney is only for those brand new to HORDES (say within 6 months playing, and little Tourney experience).
This will be held in early June. The Prize for this is another HARDBACK Copy of HORDES PRIMAL!

Then in late June, comes the TRIAL BY FIRE. Old and New players alike are invited for a 350pt Tournament, with Certificate Prizes, where the younglings are tested against their (former?) masters. Prove your mettle and challenge for the Alpha Role!

All this lead up to the SUMMER RAMPAGE League in July and August!

Any dates on the FIRST HUNT and TRIAL BY FIRE tourneys?

I need to confirm with Ryan, but FIRST HUNT should be June 9th, and TRIAL BY FIRE should be June 30th.

How exclusive are the tournaments? I would like another shot at improving my skills with Madrak and his little warbeasts.

FIRST HUNT is for 6 months or less experience only, so lets say anyone who started playing HORDES around Xmas. Prior Warmachine experience doesn't matter. It's Box set only.

TRIAL BY FIRE is for anyone and everyone, and will be a steamroller-ish tourney for single 350pt lists.

TRIAL BY FIRE - since it is 350 pts, are we doing just tooth & claw (beasties) as the book says or is it open to any released/non-proxied model?

Ever consider a Mangled Metal / Tooth & Claw tourney?

In Warmachine, there's too many "jack-casters" who'd dominate. In HORDES, there's a few "beast-freindly" casters too, and overall, it turns into gimmicky army selection over strategy and tactics. So while they might be fun, I tend not to like the format.
