Looking at starting up the mini campaign. We will be doing the battle for France starting with D-day and ending with a mege battle in march. Anyone wanting to play in this, if you could be there on the 9th of Jan to hear the rules and choose sides. I'm looking for equal numbers for both axis and allies.

Jeff Lowe (new guy) - I have German Gepanzerte Panzergrenadierkompanie and lots of tanks (Schwere Panzerkompanie) so I can be flexible so long as people are tolerant of me being a bit slow. I may need to proxy a couple of units but I will have 90% of the list put together.

Sounds great Jeremy. I will do my best to be there. I guess I will have to take up the allied cause to even things out. Will our forces be from the appropriate books for each period?

All,

Tonight I recieved my base assignment after UCT and I'm pleased to announce that I will be stationed at Schriever AFB. So I'll be returning to the Springs around mid-March and boy will it be good to come 'home'.

Edge

My friend Stephan and I will be there for the campaign and we will need an experienced player to walk us through and we have not played an actual game other than reading the rules and doing a couple tank battles against each other (and that was last summer).

I will be bringing early, mid and late. I will be also bringing my WoW planes. IF it snows like it did last weeks Thursday I will not be there or leaving early, I'm such a wimp in the snow LOL.

Jeremy,

Did you get the pages I sent you?

jeremyb
01-16-2011, 06:19 PM
This up coming sunday the 23rd will be the first game of the campaign. If i could get a roll call of who will be there and what they are bringing so i can figure up how many tables we need and what set up we will need.

John
01-16-2011, 07:47 PM
Jeremy,

I will come and play allied if I can get a game going right away. I really want to watch the packer game that starts at 2 PM. I can miss the first quarter but want to see the rest.

So, if you can pare me with a german pplayer and we can start real quick I will play.

Let me know if this will work and who I might be playing.

Quantum

Ditto above from John, put us to together and we can run rampant over each other and then go watch the Packers avenge my poor plucked Seahawks.

Is this going to be a regular campaign game or are you planning a beach landing? If its regualr John and I can probably get a quick game in, if its the beach landing then I expect it to take abit longer.

John
01-20-2011, 06:26 PM
I believe it is supposed to be the beach landing scenario "Hit the Beach Mission" from page 35 of Das Book. I can kill you off in an hour or less no problem. :-)

Quantum
01-20-2011, 07:03 PM
Hey John the guide says the Packers/Bears starts 1500 eastern which is 1300 not 1400 our time.

John
01-21-2011, 04:23 PM
Hi Bob,

I believe that the pre-game show starts at 1 pm and the game starts at 2.

But we can throw down when the store opens on Saturday and then it won't matter on Sunday. What say you?

Quantum
01-21-2011, 11:47 PM
John, Saturday is out for me for we already have plans. If you think we can really get set up and play that fast since I have never done that scenario and it includes fortifications and having to wait for reserves on both sides we can try.

jeremyb
01-22-2011, 08:10 AM
John and Bob, you guys can call the game anytime you want to. Just follow the guide lines as to who the victor is. If I remember the faster the attacker takes obectives the bigger a victory, but call it when you see fit.

Quantum
01-22-2011, 11:12 AM
Jeremy did you say there was a different point count for the landing scenario vs. the 1750 total for the scenarios after the landing one?

jeremyb
01-22-2011, 03:58 PM
Yes the defender only gets 1000 points but gets fortifactions. These are in the das book under the beach assault. So this will be the only time where combat and weapons platoons can be changed.

Quantum
01-22-2011, 04:36 PM
So I can drop part or some of a weapons platoon for a support platoon?

John
01-23-2011, 10:04 AM
So Bob,

Do you want to play our battle next Sunday as part of the campaign?

JB

jeremyb
01-23-2011, 07:06 PM
Well the first day of the campaign turned out in a draw. Tom and Dave winning for the allied side. Jeff and Bob winning for the germans.
With the super bowl in two weeks we will be doing round two next sunday the 30th. I will have the team ups and what battle they are in next sunday. So no asking who do i play, you will find out sunday with everyone else.

Quantum
01-24-2011, 05:47 PM
Yeah sorry John I ended up going to GH and playing. Troy kept us updated on scores. It was a good battle, Stephan (spelling?) and I fought down to the last of turn 12. It could have gone either way quite a few times.

jeremyb
01-25-2011, 04:50 PM
Do to some of the german players having to modify list to play in the hit the beach and the fact that the allied airborne had to be all airdroped, I'm allowing everyone a one time tweaking to thier army list. The basic company will stay the same such as if you had a british tank it will stay a british tank, but feel free to tweak this one time. Also if everyone could supply me with a list of thier companies to review, i did not do this last week, but want to just verify everyones list.

See you there.

02-27-2011, 07:19 PM
Well the allies bounced back today. So now its one victory for each side with a draw. The next game will be march 13th, this will determine who gets the advantage for the big game that will be on march 27th.

This is Ed who was with the two boys at the shop yesterday watching everyone play FOW. (With the neck brace) Thank you to everyone being patient and courteous to both me and my oldest son as we fielded a gazillion questions. Looking forward to playing and participating. I will have some units completed ASAP. (I am initially building early German and US troops). I am getting married in 3 weeks, so you probably won’t see me up there to April.

Good for the allies.

Unfortunately, I will have to miss the next battle since I will be in D.C. for a week and back on the 18th. Just in time for the tournament. I must paint now.

Ed, I look forward to seeing you and your boys at our battles in the future. Your boys were very polite and respectful. I had a fun discussion with one of them on why we each liked the Germans better and it turned out to be for the same reason "we both thought they had the cooler looking tanks" . - Bob

can you play monday at 5:30 or so. I have 1950s UK and USSR. I would like to use hidden deployment. I will tell you all about tommorow.

jeremyb

So this sunday will be the last game for the battle for france, I need as many objective markers that i can get. Thanks

jeremyb
03-27-2011, 07:10 PM
Well the battle for france is over and while the germans left france to you allies, we did get more equipment back to the fatherland to use against you in the future. Now is the time to go beat on the russians.
